Clan Scott Society Gathering
24 - 27 September 2009
Bowhill House is thrilled to be hosting a Clan Scott Society Gathering this year as part of Homecoming Scotland 2009. This is an opportunity for the community as a whole to welcome back the Scotts but also other Border clans.
There is a very exciting programme of events lined up for both Clan Scott Members and non Clan Scott, including:
• 23 September, 7.30 pm - Welcome with Traditional Music and Supper for Overseas Visitors
• 24 September, all day - Bus Tour of the Borders: 'In the Footsteps of the Scotts'
• 24 September, 7.30 pm - Rowan Tree Theatre Company: The Ragged Lion
• 25 September, 2 pm - 5 pm - House Tour and Tea
• 25 September, 1.30 - 4.30 pm - Ranger Led Tours of Bowhill Grounds and Gardens
• 25 September, 7 pm - Reception Dinner at Abbotsford
• 25 September, 7.30 pm - Scottish Concert and Ceilidh
• 26 September, 10 am - 4.30 pm - The Muster with clan parades, exhibitions, Buccleuch Gundog display, falconry, a re-enactment of the Carterhaugh Ba'Game and much more. There will be stalls, a hog roast and experts on hand to help you trace your family tree.
• 26 September, 7.30 pm - Concert with Scocha
• 27 September, 11.30 am - Open Air Ecumenical Service
• 27 September, 1 pm - Farewell Barbecue
Buccleuch Gundogs will be performing two demonstrations on the Saturday. You will be able to see a selection of our dogs being put through their paces and showing their particular skills and handled by David Lisett our Gundog Trainer. There will also be a fun side to the display as children are encouraged with their parents to take part in a mini assault course with one of our dogs as their team member.
