28 young handlers and novice dog trainers, ranging from age 9 to adult, booked in at Chapel Kennel for this exciting and informative free training day led by Buccleuch Champion Trainer, David Lisett and his hand-picked team.
David was joined by 2 other expert spaniel handlers - Eddie Scott and Andrew Cunningham - and 4 expert retriever handlers - Kenny Ryan, Lynne Ryan, Tom Leitch and Joe McLure. Also assisting was Nathan White, trainee dog handler at Chapel. The day was very kindly sponsored by Pro-Plan, Buccleuch Foods and Chapel Farm Country Champion Dog Food.
The weather was good and sunny giving the day a fine start. All aspects of training were covered and participants were put through their paces beginning with puppy handling all the way through to advanced. English Springer Spaniels, Cocker Spaniels and Retrievers were all on hand to help the young would-be trainers in their practice sessions which included walked-up and simulated shooting.
David wishes to thank all those involved in the organisation of the day, the handlers with their expert tuition, the sponsors who made the day possible free of charge, and of course the young handlers and novices who worked hard and learned so much. A super day for all.
